Kathmandu valley and its periphery have several important meditation caves, monasteries and stupas related to Buddha and Bodhisattvas. It is in Kathmandu valley where Guru Padmasambhava attained the state of enlightenment and sacred Buddhist stupas of Soyambhunath and Boudhanath located.
 
This 10 days' ‘Vibes of Buddha’ is a sacred journey that covers important Buddhist sites in Nepal including the birthplace of Buddha - Lumbini.

    Arrive in Kathamndu
    Arrive in Kathamndu (1350m / 4430ft): Welcome to Nepal! On arrival at Tribhuvan International Airport you will be greeted by Happy Feet representative or your guide and transferred to your hotel. Then, you will be briefed about your program and venture out if time permits. Later, head to a local restaurant for a Welcome Dinner.

    Visit UNESCO sites in Kathamndu
    Guided sightseeing to UNESCO World Heritage sites in Kathmandu: The rich tapestry of the cultural heritage of Nepal is synthesized in Kathmandu Valley, representing elegant architecture, refined culture, colorful bazaars and simple hospitable people. Visit the Soyambhunath stupa on a hillock overlooking Kathmandu valley. Well known as ‘Monkey Temple’ the golden spire crowning, Soyambhunath is the most ancient and mystical of all the holy shrines in Kathmandu valley. Then visit Patan - the first city of Nepal. The ancient name of Patan is Lalitpur, meaning city of beauty. The city is believed to be the first settlement in the Valley and famous for its amazing collection of fantastically carved temples and palace courtyards. Patan is also famous for metal crafts. Visit Tibetan monastery and painting school.

  • Day 3
    Visit Namobuddha and Bhaktapur
    Visit Namobuddha and Bhaktapur: A beautiful drive will take you to Namobuddha outside Kathmandu valley. The supreme sacred place Namo Buddha is located on a beautiful forested hill about 2 ½ hours drive from Kathmandu. It is the place where the Buddha, in a previous life as a prince, gave his body to a starving tigress and her cubs. On the way back, visit the UNESCO World Heritage Site of Bhaktapur – the home of medieval art and architecture. The Square is one of the most charming architectural showpieces of the Valley as it highlights some of the finest medieval art and architecture of Nepal.

  • Day 4
    Visit Pharping
    Visit Pharping and local sites of Kathmandu: Located at south of Kathmandu valley, Pharping is the sacred site, where Guru Padmasambhava, the 8th century Tantric sage, achieved enlightenment. For centuries Pharping has been a centre for spiritual practice and, besides the cave where Padmasambhava and his consort Shakyadevi meditated, the area boasts many monasteries, temples and residences of revered Tibetan masters. Pharping is also the place of very important Vajrayogini temple. In the afternoon, visit Yetkha Bahal, Tara Temple at Itumbahal, Abalokeshower Temple at Janabahal and walk through local colorful market Ason.

    Drive to Pokhara
    Drive to Pokhara (850m / 2790ft) / 6 hours drive: A scenic 6 hours’drive passing through several small towns and farm lands will take you to Lake City Pokhara where eye opening views of Himalayas welcome you. Nestled beneath the Himalayas, the lush natural beauty of Pokhara contrasts with Fewa Lake and Mountain View. Because of its tranquil lakes, natural beauty and superb scenery, Pokhara is one of the most popular holiday destinations in Nepal. Walk around the colorful Lake Side in the afternoon.

  • Day 6
    Sightseeing in Pokhara
    Sightseeing in Pokhara: After breakfast, take a short drive to Pumdikot (1500m / 4920ft), a site of an ancient fort on a hilltop. Then take a pleasant short downhill hike to Peace Stupa. The hike is downhill and offers outstanding views of the Fewa Lake, Pokhara city and Himalayas in the background. Drive back to Pokhara for lunch. Then, visit the International Mountain Museums.

    Drive to Tansen
    Drive to Tansen (1350m / 4430ft): Early morning, take a short drive to Sarangkot for the stunning views of the Himalayas. After breakfast, a scenic drive of about 4 hours will take you to Tansen. Situated at the lap of Srinagar Hill, Tansen is a beautiful summer resort of Nepal with spectacular views of mountains and valleys. The place is famous for its cultural heritage and traditions. After lunch, you will take a pleasant walk to Srinagar Hill and the colorful Tansen Bazaar.

    Drive to Lumbini
    Drive to Lumbini (150m / 490ft): Drive downhill to the flat land of Lumbini close to the Indian border. Lumbini is the place where the Buddha (enlightened one) was born. It is the place where one can experience peace regardless of any religion or faith. The Buddha’s teachings are as applicable today as they were. After check-in at the hotel and lunch, visit Maya Devi Temple, Asoka pillar, monasteries and Peace Stupa.

  • Day 9
    Sightseeing in Lumbini
    In Lumbini: You will spend full a day in Lumbini visiting Mayadevi Temple, different monasteries and Tiraurakot where Buddha spent 29 years. The Mayadevi temple houses the marker stone and foundation of the ancient temple resembling the exact birthplace of Lord Buddha. Monastic zone is developed into the World Buddhist center with monasteries constructed by Buddhist communities from different countries.

  • Day 10
    Fly to Kathmandu
    After breakfast, drive to Bhairahawa airport and take a short flight to Kathmandu. In the afternoon, visit Boudhanath, possibly the world’s largest Buddhist stupa and a site of great veneration and Tibetan culture. Visit Tibetan monastery and painting school. At Boudhanath, you will also have opportunity for Dharma goods shopping.
