It is a classic trek with unsurpassed views and a perfect introduction to Himalayan trekking. The adventure starts with a scenic drive to Pokhara, then to Ghandruk next day. Then you walk for 3 days through forest and picturesque village enjoying the breathtaking views of the Himalayas, which offers a unique blend of physical challenge, mental relaxation and spiritual uplift. The region is also home of the world famous brave Gorkha soldiers. The trip is combined with colorful Lake City Pokhara and fascinating Chitwan. Pokhara is famous for its tranquil lakes, natural beauty and superb scenery and Chitwan is famous of its indigenous Tharu people and their unique culture and diverse and dense wildlife of the region.
 
Qualification: This hike is moderate and does not require any previous hiking experience. It only requires that you be able to hike for 4 - 6 hours a day over hilly terrain with uphill and downhill. The walking hours mentioned in the itinerary are slow pace walking with several breaks. Your duffle bag will be carried by porter. You have to carry only a light daypack with water bottle, camera etc.

    Arrive in Kathamndu
    Arrive in Kathamndu (1350m / 4430ft): Welcome to Nepal! On arrival at Tribhuvan International Airport you will be welcomed by our representative or your guide and transferred to your hotel. Then, you will be briefed about your program and help you make the necessary preparation. Venture out if time permits. Later, head to a local restaurant for a Welcome Dinner.

    Sightseeing in Kathmandu
    Guided sightseeing to UNESCO World Heritage sites in Kathmandu: The rich tapestry of the cultural heritage of Nepal is synthesized in Kathmandu Valley, representing elegant architecture, refined culture, colorful bazaars and simple hospitable people.

    Visit the Soyambhunath stupa on a hillock overlooking Kathmandu valley. Well known as ‘Monkey Temple’ the golden spire crowning, Soyambhunath is the most ancient and mystical of all the holy shrines in Kathmandu valley. Then visit Patan - the first city of Nepal. The ancient name of Patan is Lalitpur, meaning city of beauty. The city is believed to be the first settlement in the Valley and famous for its amazing collection of fantastically carved temples and palace courtyards. Patan is also famous for authentic Nepali metal crafts. Lastly, visit Boudhanath, possibly the world’s largest Buddhist stupa and a site of great veneration and Tibetan culture. Visit Tibetan monastery and painting school.

    Fly to Pokhara
    Fly to Pokhara (850m / 2790ft): A short and scenic flight will take you to the beautiful town of Pokhara where eye opening views of Himalayas will welcome you. Nestled beneath the Himalayas, the lush natural beauty of Pokhara contrasts with Fewa Lake and mountain views. After check-in at the hotel, go for boating on Fewa Lake, then visit the International Mountain Museums and walk around the colorful lakeside in the afternoon.

  • Day 4
    Drive to Ghandruk
    Drive to Ghandruk (2000m / 6560ft): 3 hours’ drive: After leisurely breakfast in Pokhara, a scenic drive of about 1 ½ hours will takes you to Nayapool. Then, after another about 1 ½ hour’s off-road uphill drive you will arrive in Ghandruk at time for lunch. After check-in at lodge and lunch, explore the village. Ghandruk is one of the most beautiful villages of Nepal. It is a village of ethnic Gurung people and home of brave Gurkha soldiers.

    Note: The road to Ghandruk is a seasonal road. Should the road be closed you have to walk for some portion.

  • Day 5
    Trek to Tadapani
    Trek to Tadapani (2650m / 8700ft): 4 hours trek: After leisurely breakfast you will trek through rhododendron forests with magnificent mountain views of the over towering peaks of Annapurna. Situated at the top of the hill - Tadapani is a famous place for sunrise and sunset view on Annapurna and Fishtail peak.

  • Day 6
    Trek to Ghorepani
    Trek to Ghorepani (2850m / 9350ft) / 6 hours trek: Continue ascending through deep oak and rhododendron forests with outstanding views of majestic Himlalayas. Stop at Deurali for lunch, then, after a short climb, descend to Ghorepani village. Ghorepani is a famous stop for trekkers because of outstanding views of the Himalayas.

  • Day 7
    Trek to Hile
    Trek to Hile (1525m / 5000ft) / 5 hours trek: If you choose, you can take an early morning excursion to Poon Hill at 3200m / 10500ft for an even better, unobstructed views of the high Himalaya. It takes about 2 hours round trip. But it is optional, which you can decide when you are in Ghorepani. From Ghodepani, you will descend to Hile for about 5 hours passing rice and millet fields and the villages of Gurung and Magar.

    Drive to Pokhara
    Drive to Pokhara (2 ½ hours’ drive): From Hile, the drive is on graveled road to Nayapool, then the drive is on paved road to Pokhara. After check -in at hotel and freshen up, you will have free time to explore beautiful city of Pokhara on your own.

  • Day 9
    Drive to Chitwan National Park
    Drive to Chitwan National Park (150m / 490ft): After breakfast you will leave for Chitwan National Park. It is about 4 ½ hours of beautiful drive through scenic Trisuli gorge and flat fertile land of Tarai in southern Nepal.

    You will stay two nights at Chitwan village at the border of Chitwan National Park. These three days / two nights Chitwan package provides different jungle activities such as jungle safari, boat ride, jungle walk, bird watching, tribal dance program, visiting tribal Tharu village etc. The activities will be in a small groups.

    The park is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and one of the last populations of one-horned Asiatic rhinoceros and home of the Bengal tiger.

    Note: During monsoon and post monsoon (usually mid-June to beginning of October), jeep safaris are not permitted to conduct by park authority due to slippery and muddy roads. Alternate activities are provided during this period.
